As a result of the lighter workload on your filter, there is significantly less matter passing through it which results in significantly less maintenance of your existing filter. If you have a cartridge filter then this can mean only cleaning it once per year and for a sand filter it can save an estimated 7000L that would otherwise be flushed away in backwashes. You might expect that with two filters working together, that the water flow is hindered, but this is not the case at all and actually the opposite is true, with the MultiCyclone improving water circulation. Also, unlike the filter you have at home, as more and more dirt is caught and sitting in the MultiCyclone, the flow rate does not change at all, so there is overall less strain on your pump.
It is also perfect for when you want to vacuum your pool but you know you'll be bombarding your filter with dirt. No longer will this burden your filter and your precious time and effort that goes into cleaning the filter thereafter!
The MultiCyclone can easily be retro-fitted into your pre-existing pool equipment setup, slotting right between your pump and your filter. The MultiCyclone uses centrifugal force to separate the dirt and other suspended particles from the water itself. The water from your pump enters a series of hydro cyclones where the sediment is spun out onto the walls and falls down into the clear chamber. Since it's a clear chamber it easy to see when it needs to be emptied at a glance, which is done by simply opening the discharge valve. The great thing about this design is there is no moving parts that need to be serviced due to wear and tear, and nothing to be cleaned or replaced.
